This movement and writing circle will emerge from our experiences as trans women of color, femmes of color, and allies, living after the apocalypse. Inspired by the writing of Octavia Butler, Nalo Hopkinson, Nnedi Okorafor and popular culture science fiction, this workshop looks at ways we can develop our own apocalyptic mythology through movement and writing. Based on our experiences of surviving violence, illness, colonization, the prison industrial complex, migration and/or trauma, we will consider the stories of apocalypse that we already know, and develop our own. The movement in this session will include individual and group movement, based on dance and Theater of the Oppressed, and will be accessible for people of all body types, and does not require movement experience. It can be as big or small as you want, and it is optional
